My Countertop Dishwasher Just Died

Over the past few weeks my countertop dishwasher has been dying. I've noticed the buttons that allow me to control it aren't always working. I'm also hearing the motor reaching the end of it's service life. Tonight is the end of the service life for it.
This was a really excellent buy at a time in my life when I really needed it. I found this at a yard sale for $30 CAD. It was worth $400 CAD. The previous owner used it for 1 year and upon moving it became redundant to them. I didn't have the financial means to buy new. I was so pleased that the Lord Jesus provided for me. The countertop dishwasher played a big part in regaining my independence in day to day living.
Before I sleep tonight I am going to select and purchase the replacement. This can't wait. There is so much uncertainty in my life over my hip joints and knee joints. The pain and limited physical abilities amount to me depending on the dishwasher as a tool. I have the will to do more with my life than just keep myself alive.
A few months ago I went to the effort of plumbing my countertop dishwasher directly to a hot water supply line and discharge drain. I'm really hoping I will be able to find matching parts for the replacement. I'm thinking to stay with the Danby brand. They used standard plumbing water supply line and discharge drain components for those who decided to take this step.
The alternative was having my dishwasher connected to my kitchen faucet. In theory this sounded nice. In practice it wasn't helpful. With my physical disability the layout of my kitchen is very important.
- I often cook in bulk and freeze my meals. I need to have the sinks available for bringing cooked meals down to temperature in preparation for freezing. Having used dishwasher water splashing around isn't helpful.
- Equally so I need the kitchen sink available for use with brushing my teeth. With my physical challenges it isn't reasonable to expect that I am always able to get to the bathroom for brushing my teeth. I needed to make it convenient and practical.
I am doing what I have control over to help myself and promote my best quality of life.
