"I Would Rather Die Than Drive Around In A Power Wheelchair"

While on my way to get my electric wheelchair repaired a person walking past me said to me, "I would rather die than drive around in a power wheelchair'. I strongly feel this comes from a place of not understanding what an electric wheelchair provides (especially the re-gained independence). I appreciate his comment after the aversion I had to needing one for myself. But the alternative was to be housebound. At age 32 I sure didn't want to be stuck at home. I've made this video in part to support those who are really struggling coming to grips with needing a power wheelchair. I've also made this video as a form of education that the family members and friends may get a deeper appreciation of what someone goes through before and after receiving an electric wheelchair. I've shared part of my own struggle in this video as I addressed this topic several years ago.
