Trimmed The Grape Plant Ratchet Straps

My friend Mike has just stopped at my home to give me help with a chore that I can't do for myself. I am container growing a grape plant. I am using some 1" x 3" lumber with clothes line to support the grape plant as it grows tall. I am securing the lumber onto the food grade bucket using ratchet straps. The last step in this setup is to trim the ratchet straps to a length that matches their usage and then seal the edge with heat. The fabric that makes up the ratchet straps is plastic. When you trim a ratchet strap you need to seal the edge with heat so it won't fray. My friend Mike did this for me. I can't bend right now because of my recent knee replacement surgery. I needed someone to do this for me. The straps were 10 feet long. They are in the way of the person cutting my grass. Now I have them trimmed to about 16 inches. I am really glad I purchased my grape plant. I am enjoying getting outside to water it. It is lovely being outside after all the physical punishment my body put me through last summer of my left artificial hip revision surgery. The idea I had of purchasing a grape plant has been completely worth.
