Application To Canada Disability Benefit

I have a Disability Tax Certificate with Canada Revenue Agency. In 2025 the Canada Disability Benefit was launched. One of the eligibility criteria is having your income tax return up to date. Now that I have done this and my 2025 income tax return was assessed I have been able to apply for this benefit. Once approved I will start receiving an additional $200 a month. What I am reading online says it will be backdated to when this benefit was started since I was eligible and not more than 24 months has passed. My budget has been really tight. This should help me keep pace with the cost of living.
