Warm Water Therapy Pool Closed For 3 Weeks Of Annual Maintenance

The aquatic center within the sports facility operated by the city where I live has now closed for 3 weeks. This is a planned annual closure for preventative maintenance. For me it means I can't use their warm water therapy pool for the time being. It sucks in the sense that the warmth of the water eases my knee pain as I do the exercises to recover from my knee replacement surgery. However I am really pleased to see the city investing in it's facility and that presumably the facility will continue to exist for others to make use of instead of deteriorating. I've made arrangements to have use of their Workout Room during the pool closure. I can't simply stop the recovery because the therapy pool is closed. I think this is best for my knee. I will just have to do my best to work through the pain this creates or ask my doctors for help if it gets really bad.
This is the end of summer vacation for the part time staff that teach swimming lessons, the instructors for water based programs and life guards. One of their staff has been especially kind to me and made me not feel alone as I have gone through the past 2 months working towards. I have been stirring up my knee pain by doing the physiotherapy to recover. But I haven't felt alone in this as I go through this. I have really appreciated being said "hello" to for a few minutes. I have been really grateful for this. This young adult is off to university. He has told me the remaining full time employments will say "hi" to me when the pool reopens. I really hope so.
The recovery from my knee replacement surgery has been much harder than having both of my artificial hips replaced last year. There is nothing natural about healing from knee replacement surgery. However it is working. I am really glad. The knee joint that was replaced has been a problem since 1991. I will be so glad when it has recovered.
