Follow Up Appointment With My Surgeon

My appointment was sufficiently interesting. I am not entirely sure what to make of it.
A seroma is the medical name for the fluid problem under my incision. I have told my surgeon in no uncertain terms that I want the seroma dealt with next and having a good knee - hip on one leg would make a big difference. He made an illusive reference to not having a plastic surgeon in Hamilton and that his medical practical will be setup differently. The plastic surgeon in Kingston doesn't have a lot of science to backup surgically removing the seroma and that it only has a 50% chance of success. I responded that I am okay with being passed off for a plastic surgeon to do this. But I need the plastic surgeon to believe in what they are doing.
My surgeon is extremely concerned about my other knee joint because there isn't enough arthritis to support knee replacement. I told him I'd been thinking and I have new information that may make a difference. In March 2007 a physiatrist had the theory that I was a candidate for whip lash in my joints because of my bones being out of tolerance with one another and that I could make a good will case of this being why I have struggled so much. My surgeon is desperately worried about doing more harm than good. I have no idea what happens with my left knee.
Because of what has transpired in the past 24 hours with my left knee he offered to do a cortisone injection. He asked me what I thought about this. I told him I injected 1ΒΌ cc of local freezing into my left knee on June 30th 2026 and it stopped the pain. I was agreeable to try cortisone even though it didn't work in the past. I have to wait until Tuesday to form an opinion if it worked.
The upshot is that I've made my surgeon really nervous because of my left knee and not having tons of arthritis to explain why this is happening to me in the context of being a routine and typical knee patient.
The treatment plan is to work on the right knee range of motion until my August 6th 2026 appointment. Also I am allowed to start using the warm water pool to aid in the recovery of my right knee. The specific goal of the warm water therapy pool is to recover muscle strength compromised from my right knee replacement surgery.
