Social Worker Helped Complete The Mobility Bus Application Where I Have My Medical Appointments

The physiotherapist I had the presurgery appointment with thought it would be beneficial for me to have access to the paratransit service in Kingston Ontario for the days I am in Kingston for my medical appointments. He made arrangements for one of the hospital social workers to come to my hospital room and complete the application form with me. I am open to making my life easier going forward. This won't be in place for the ride from Kingston General Hospital to the VIA Rail station when I am discharged from hospital. But this should be in place for my follow up appointments and the process of having my left knee joint replaced.
The system I have presently been using is the regular public transit route that is part of Kingston Ontario's public transit system. All the regular bus route buses have a ramp that flops out of the main entrance to the bus adjacent to the driver. This ramp facilitates wheelchair access to the bus. As far as the drivers are concerned this is routine. The city of Kingston runs this bus route every 30 minutes. It is reliable and available. Granted the frequent stops can jostle me. Being jostled after recent surgery is unpleasant. But I have been through so much worse over any of my 8 adult surgeries that this is tolerable.
If someone wants to offer me help I am wiling to accept it. Otherwise I am simply trying to make the best out of life and be grateful for all the many health care workers that have believed and invested in me as a result of my right knee replacement surgery.
