My Diarrhea Is Back - Purchased Imodium
[ Thursday April 23rd 2026 at 10:03 am ]

Tonight's sleep was an absolute wreck. The very explosive diarrhea that is caused by microscopic colitis is back. I spent the night at a hotel about 10 minutes from the hospital where my right knee joint will be replaced tomorrow. I just went to a local pharmacy to purchase Imodium to slow the contractions that cause diarrhea. I quit counting after 12 instances of diarrhea. This justifies the use of the medication.

There is a bit of a silver lining in this. There is no possibility that any stool remains in me that could cause me to experience diarrhea during my knee replacement surgery. If it was going to happen this was the best timing possible.

This also means I will need to remain hospitalized until I have regained the motion and stamina to get myself to my toilet at home for frequent diarrhea during my recovery from my knee replacement surgery. Otherwise I will be sitting in diarrhea soiled boxer shorts. I will see my surgeon before the operation tomorrow and explain this is what has transpired. It won't particularly surprise him. The hospital patient record keeping system has the lab work that diagnosed me with microscopic colitis. We talked about this during a recent appointments. He knows what I am enduring. I am positive I won't be seen as being unreasonable.
