Asked For A Follow Up Appointment With My Hip Surgeon
[ Monday January 6th 2025 at 7:53 pm ]

I have reached out to my surgeon's office. I have asked for an appointment to discuss the recovery from my left hip replacement revision surgery. I have the MRI of my right knee booked for tomorrow. I have asked that my follow up appointment with my surgeon to be at least a week later in order to have the results of the MRI so we are working from a place of fact.

The problem I now have relates to my right knee buckling for a fourth instance. I am not physically capable of the physiotherapy to recover from the surgery. I am willing to do the physiotherapy. But my right knee is no longer compatible with this now. I need to know what to expect and plan for. I am needing to ask the hip surgeon if he would coordinate the treatment of my with the knee surgeon he referred me to. This is the only way I have been able to work out a recovery "on paper".

I am perfectly willing and happy to have uncomfortable and unpleasant conversations. There are times when I don't want to say more than what is needed to extend a measure of grace to some people and for fear of making a situation worse. This conversation I will be having with my surgeon is clearly one that will be very direct out of necessity.
