Periodically a friend makes a suggestion to me that they think will help make my life easier on account of my physical disability. One of these suggestions has been to use an Instant Post to cook my meals. My friend Joe has loaned me his. I am trying to assess if this is a good option for me to buy one as a strategy for me to cook my meals on account of my physical disability. This has a pressure cooking mode. This allowed the food to cook quickly. What I am unsure about is if this is a benefit to me or not. For several years now I have been using a slow cooker to prepare my meals in bulk and freeze them. I have reasoned that spacing out the preparation, clean up and freezing my meals was best on account of the challenges in my hips, knees and ankles. I am willing to consider if this is a better match for me. I have gone to a grocery store to purchase 3 whole chickens. I am interested to see what comes of this.
In the short term I have a more immediate need. My rice cooker has broken. I sometimes use this to cook up rice, vegetables and precooked frozen meat balls. This is what I was planning to eat this week. It has put me in a difficult situation. When it broke I changed my plans. I went to the store and purchased ingredients to make vegetable wraps to get me through the following 5 or so days and given me time to think. An Instant Post is able to cook rice. This will help get me through until I have a new rice cooker. Joe has been a really great friend. He is supportive. I feel cared about. We trust each other. He has come through for me again when I really needed it.
