Administered Treatment #4 For Rocky The Hamster's Abscess With Cryogenic Freezing

I just gave Rocky the next treatment for his abscess. I love my little buddy. It amazes me with how he trusts me to care for his abscess. He doesn't really fuss or fight me. More or less he stands still on my hand and trusts that I am doing what is right.
The treatment causes frost bite. The idea is that a portion of the abscess will fall off a few days later. With Rocky being an elderly hamster I think this is best for him. It puts the least amount of stress on his body. Rocky is still able to have a good quality of life. This is helping manage the abscess.
During this treatment Rocky took his front paw and tried to push my hand so I'd release the cold. When I resisted he relaxed his paw. He tried again about two seconds later. This time I immediately stopped. I needed the cold to be applied long enough to be successful.
What amazes me about Rocky is that he immediately resumes his hamster life. He continues foraging, grooming, running on his wheel and generally acting as you'd expect a hamster to. Everything considered I think this is best.
