I just completed the final stage of the platelet rich plasma ("PRP") screening. This was a two week before procedure phone call. There are a number of restrictions I have to abide by in order to give me the best possible outcome. In part they are wanting me to eat very healthy so my blood is in the best possible state for the procedure in the hopes of a positive outcome. As well I am not able to use anti inflammatory inflammatory medication (NSAID) for at least the next 6 weeks. The PRP procedure induces an inflammation response. If you take anti inflammatory drugs it prevents the treatment from working right from the get-go. Here's to hoping my knee function will improve as a result of the treatment.
