Caps Covering The Vented Ridge Cap On My Metal Roof Are Installed

I paid for upgraded venting for the metal roof on my shed. This is because I plan to use it as a home office. To heat the building requires good ventilation in the attic. This is to avoid ice in the attic due to the Canadian winters. The upgraded venting allows for maximum air flow.
The one thing I don't like about the vented ridge cap is the butt join. It just doesn't resemble a solid weather tight connection. To me this appears to be a weakness which would eventually allow water in. It is amazing the strength of water freezing has on building materials.
I designed some simple caps to go over these joins. These are now riveted in place. I am very pleased.
