Fantastic Progress With The Yard Drainage Digging

This afternoon I've had more help with digging my yard drainage trench. For the first time it actually went well. This project has been plauged by tree roots and unused rocks buried when this house was built. The digging involved creating the French drain has been so much harder than I could have ever expected when asking for help with the digging.
A neighbor asked me what my yard work project is about. He is so grateful. His yard was also flooded. I calculated there was approximately 3,000 liters of water flooding my backyard. I am sure this neighbor will receive the fringe benefits of this. A French drain provides a pathway for water to be absorbed into the ground. It provides a pathway below the frost line during the spring thaw while the ground remains frozen.
