A Trip To The Emergency Department Of My Local Hospital

I woke up this morning with my right hip joint swollen. I am concerned about this. I need to get my hip assessed. It was replaced in February 2015. It should not be swelling at this point. But I haven't healed from the hip replacement surgery due to my knee joints.
There are 3 key concerns I have:
- The first is to eliminate a hair line fracture around my artificial hip joint. I need to know that the bone supporting my artificial hip joint is suitable for purpose.
- I further need to know that the hardware is stable and that my artificial hip joint hasn't come loose inside of me. This has to do with bone density and that we hope I am putting just enough weight through my artificial hips to prevent the loss of bone density.
- Finally I am wanting to know that I haven't developed a bone infection. The reason I question this is because of the swelling.
I was recognized by the hospital staff due to my frequent use of the emergency department. The hospital staff treated me very well. They were agreeable with my requests for updated x-rays. The x-rays show my artificial hip is stable inside me as the surgeon installed it.
What's gone wrong is that I've redeveloped bursitis in my right hip joint. This was present in both of my hip joints prior to being replaced. This has come about due to my awkward gait. In common English this is the mechanics of how I take a step due to the impact of my knee joints.
There is a bit of a silver lining in this situation. I own a physiotherapy clinic caliper physiotherapy ultrasound machine. It is an appropriate use of this machine to treat this condition. I am very grateful for the planning I have done in order to help myself and the situation I have found myself in.
