Follow Up Appointment From My Knee Ultrasound

I just had an appointment with my family doctor. I have the results of the ultrasound of my right knee joint. Nothing is torn. Although this doesn't get to the bottom of what is paining me I don't actually see this as being unhelpful. Even though it isn't a diagnosis of what is now paining me so much this does narrow down a whole lot of what isn't wrong.
A knee ultrasound is able to image ligaments, tendons and also identify fluid in the knee joint. Ultrasound is unable to penetrate bone. It is also limited by depth (within about 1 inch or 2.5cm below the skin. I am relieved the presence of fluid in my knee joint was identified. This helps back up my claim of swelling. The next step will be an MRI. I am comfortable with this as a next step.
