Home From The Hospital

I've been to the hospital and home again. This was a helpful trip. Earlier today I found 2 red sores on my outer thigh. One of these is directly on top of one of my hip surgery incisions. My family doctor told me to be seen immediately if any of my incisions become red, feel warm to the touch, have a discharge or an odor coming out of them. I'd rather be safe then sorry.
I had a pleasant surprise when I arrived at the hospital. My pharmacist was there for a medical emergency in her family. She came to me and offered to be of assistance. She believed it was an insect bit. However she can't officially make this diagnosis and wanted the emergency department triage nurse to make this assessment. The triage nurse agreed. I tend to err on the side of caution when something isn't normal.
