Follow Up Questions With My Surgeon

I've started forming a follow up question for my surgeon. I've just left this for his administrative assistant to get me an answer.
My right knee joint was cool to the touch during my assessment on May 2nd 2019. This past week I've independently experienced the skin above my hip joints being cool to the touch. The surgeon said this is a symptom of nerves misfiring.
With this happening elsewhere in my body I don't know is this means additional testing should be done prior to my follow up appointment. I've also read online screening for diabetes or circulation should be considered. I am wanting a thorough assessment so I am able to have a diagnosis that I may get behind.
