Arranging A Colonoscopy
[ Wednesday February 25th 2026 at 12:20 pm ]

I've just spent the past 90 minutes arranging the colonoscopy needed to assess my ongoing diarrhea. It has been a bit of effort to organize this.

The appointment is on March 24th at 7:20AM. I can't use the normal para transit service to bring me. It is just too early. I had to send a message to my disability case worker for taxi travel. The local hospital is part of 4 hospitals. Where I have to go is 25 minutes from my home.

Then the next issue is that I won't have my power wheelchair me. I had to message the hospital patient relations to find out how to get a porter to bring me to the area of the hospital where the colonoscopy will be happening.

I need my surgeon to agree to this because of the fluid draining from my incisions and the recent hip surgery. I had to call my surgeons office. I received their voice mail and left a detailed message.

I need to have a friend bring me home. On account of the sedation they want a friend to bring you home in order to assess if I am acting abnormal.

I have to take medication prior to this. I sent the prescription to the pharmacy using their eCare. Then I called the pharmacy to ask if it would be okay to give the delivery driver the original prescription.

I don't find organizing these types of things hard. Although it has been a minor marathon.
