Arranging Transportation And Hotel For Before My Surgery
[ Tuesday March 18th 2025 at 2:12 pm ]

I have just started looking into staying at a hotel during the 2 nights before my surgery. I have found a hotel that is 8 minutes drive using my power wheelchair to get to the hospital. It is in an older section of the city. I have contacted them to ask if it is wheelchair friendly to the extent that I am able to get into a hotel room. I figure this is the closest to the hospital. I won't be able to attempt to book a para-transit vehicle until I have been told what time I need to arrive at the hospital. The city where I am being operated on is still using covid restrictions with their para-transit service. It is nearly hopelessly impossible to get a ride the following day. They have been using a waiting list. This isn't practical for me having an operation. My power wheelchair is designed to be used outside. The motors are capable of this. This may be my best option.
