Pain Management Appointment With My Family Doctor

I just had my quarterly pain management appointment with my family doctor and the staff pharmacist. I saw my pain management specialist doctor on September 6th. He wants my family doctor to do a referral for knee surgery. My right knee locking is a mechanical issue. I have an MRI diagnosis of a tear. With my knee locking it is reasonable to assume the tear has worsened. This is worthy of surgical intervention. During this appointment my family doctor agreed to the referral.
If I can't get offered an operation I will need to arrange help outside of Canada. I am now facing the same situation as when my left hip joint failed in 2006 from a tear. I am into a survival mode. I am needing more help. I hope they will help me. I am trying to be patient and understanding with how elective surgery wait times significantly longer on account of covid. My pain management doctor thinks an operation is this is reasonable and treatable. This is instead of giving me more pain medication. I agree with this.
