Reached Out To My Surgeon After My Right Artificial Hip Fully Dislocated Two Days Ago

I have decided to reach out to my surgeon. My right artificial hip fully dislocated. My right leg was approximately 4 inches longer than my left leg when this happened. When I asked my surgeon if this could be happening to me in 2024 he said to me that I would confidently know and he didn't think this was the case at that time. Now I understand what he meant. When this happened to me I popped the artificial hip back into the socket. It wasn't too hard to do.
There is a silver lining to this. Replacing an artificial hip that is dislocating is known treatment and is typically successful. Whereas replacing an artificial hip that is just painful leaves open questions prior to surgery if it is helpful or not. As painful as this was and still is I am glad it happened. My right artificial hip is finally giving up it's secrets. This explains so much.
