My Temporary Cavity Was Replaced With A Permanent Filling
[ Tuesday June 20th 2023 at 2:10 pm ]

The cavity in my one tooth is nearly all the way down to the root. A temporary cavity has just been put in. The hope now is that the pain will stop and the tooth will heal. If so the tooth will be able to be repaired with a permanent cavity. Otherwise the tooth will need to go. This cavity is particularly bad. The dentist has been very blunt with me. It could go either way. They don't know if a temporary cavity will work. However a temporary cavity is worth trying.

This is a life lesson I had already been through several years ago. The pain medication I use for my arthritis doesn't distinguish between hip pain and the rest of my body. It is abundantly obvious the pain medication was stopping me from feeling the cavity as it grew. I judged it to be too much of a risk to go to the dentist during the pandemic. I really didn't want to acquire the covid virus. You can't wear a mask while your teeth are being cleaned or worked on.

After feeling pain in the tooth I am glad I went today. It is obvious I made the right decision in reassessing the risk factors of a dental appointment. My tooth needed help from a dentist. I just hope this has works.
